This weekend still life workshop offers an immersive introduction to oil painting and still life, guiding participants from foundational techniques to a resolved, full-colour painting. Beginning with a demo and quick tonal studies in grisaille to understand value, brushwork, layering and the material qualities of oil paint, the workshop then moves into colour — exploring colour relationships, and harmony. With a strong focus on composition, form, and depth, participants will develop a still life painting over the weekend, learning how to build colour with confidence and create focus, atmosphere and subtle luminosity. Suitable for all levels, with guidance tailored to individual experience.
